This weekend, people in Barnet will come together to remember those who died in wars around the world. On Remembrance Sunday, services will be held all over the borough. The Mayor of Barnet, Cllr Tony Vourou, will lead the main ceremony at Hendon War Memorial.

Cllr Vourou will lay a wreath on behalf of the council. Council Leader Cllr Barry Rawlings and politicians from the opposition will also be there. There will also be Armed Forces members, veterans, cadets, emergency services, representatives from different faiths, and the Salvation Army Band.

Before the event, Cllr Vourou talked about how important it is to remember. And he said, “Remembrance Sunday is always a very sad and moving day, and we should remember all the people who died for our freedom in wars around the world.” People from all over the borough will gather to remember and honor the dead. “In case we forget.”
